It’s always more than interesting to write a blog about traveling in China. As you probably already know, China has the largest population of any country at 1.4 billion. The overall size of China is only slightly less than Canada but the differences in population (Canada 34 million) and culture are huge, and it’s always a pleasure to experience these differences again and again.

This time our destination was Guangzhou, the capital and most populous city of Guangdong province in southern China. Some say that Guangzhou is the Chinese equivalent of Los Angeles, and in many ways it is. Palm trees and perfectly sunny weather in November confirmed our expectations. Since we were located in our favorite Chinese city Shenzhen, we took one of China’s famous high-speed trains. An incredible experience, with speeds of more than 300km per hour, we smashed this distance in less than 30 minutes.

After we arrived in Guangzhou, we were looking for a hotel near the big Expo located in Pazhou area, of course, it wasn’t that easy as we expected. Equipped with phones and a basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese we roamed the neighbourhood of our hotel and badgered passersby for the location its location. It was in walking distance of where we were. Or was it? One tiny detail we almost forgot – people in Guangzhou are mostly speaking Cantonese, not Mandarin. After an hour or so we finally met someone who could help. People in China are very hospitable and willing to help. And those who speak English (even a little) will almost always say, “Welcome to China”. And that’s just how we were ‘met’ by Blotto, a friendly 30 something-year-old Chinese guy who took us directly to our hotel.

Guangzhou, with a long history of international trade, is a somewhat westernized city (for China that is) and the locals are very much use to dealing with foreigners. So use to dealing with foreigners, that it wasn’t strange for taxi drivers to try to raise their price by as much as 300%. Luckily we had a functional app for Chinese Uber called DiDi that helped us get around the city without being cheated.

Now you probably didn’t know but the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in the largest exhibition centre in the world. Fortunately, waiting lines and security checks were well organized and it didn’t take us much time to enter the expo despite the large number of people attending.

Our first impression upon entering was, ‘WOW’. Booths displaying different sex doll models, different companies all trying to keep our attention on their products, some of them successfully, some of them not. One thing that we have to be totally honest about is that a lot of companies didn’t decorate their booths very well at all – dolls were in dull and unsexy positions, their hair was messy, and their outfits were terrible. It was time to move on.

The good news is we saw many companies that simply nailed it. With a lot of style they made their booth both sexy and classy. We took our time and talked to them about their products, the materials they use, pricing, and more. One thing that we found very surprising was the number of foreigners we saw – ZERO. Being the only foreigners at the Expo the locals couldn’t hide their excitement and most of the time they were taking pictures of us instead of the sex dolls. That was really interesting and funny. We had a great time with everyone we met and made excellent contacts that are sure to last a lifetime.

While the first floor was mostly about sex dolls the second floor was more about accessories and technology. We saw many brand new products from multi-functional vibrators and heat censored anal plugs to mind-blowing male masturbators and prostrate dildos. Clearly guys and girls have a lot of pleasure to look forward to in the future. On top of everything, we met many people who were representing a variety of sex products including lubricants, sex stimulators, condoms, inflatable dolls, cock pumps, and more. All of them were more than happy to give us samples which we were really thrilled and thankful for.

After a short break and a proper Chinese lunch, we took in a show where live sexy dancers were showing off enticing lingerie and their smoking hot bodies while the latest western tracks thumped over the speakers. It was hard to get through the big crowd of locals and their video recording phones, but being taller than most we were satisfied to watch the show from behind.

After the show, we went back to the hotel to collect our thoughts and opinions. This was an amazing experience and that this event happened in China (which is the largest sex manufacturers country in the world) is really important to us as a supplier of the sexiest TPE sex dolls online – Madam Dolly (madamdolly.com).
